AN I STILL BUY MENTHOL OR CAPSULE CIGARETTES?

Afraid not. As of 20th May 2020, all Menthol and Capsule cigarettes are banned from sale in the UK and EU as part of the European Tobacco Products Directive.

This means that you can no longer buy these products. And that includes online, in shops or in supermarkets.

SO WHAT DO I DO NOW THEN?

You could speak to your usual retailer about which tobacco products are available now that the ban is law. Alternatively, why not investigate menthol alternatives in vape products? There are lots of options available and they are all freely available as they are not covered by the ban.

THINKING OF TRYING ‘SLIGHTLY LESS LEGAL’ WAYS OF GETTING YOUR MENTHOL TOBACCO PRODUCTS?

We know it’s tempting but please, just don’t. Many of the alternatives you might find out there on the black market are probably fake. Fake products aren’t regulated and have been known to contain all sorts on nasty stuff, including asbestos, mould, dust, dead flies and rat droppings. Sales of fake products can also help to fund serious organised crime. So really, just don’t.
